Bus for wheelchair users
Unfortunately, the infrastructure of Spain’s Costa Blanca is often not adapted to the needs of wheelchair users or the disabled.
Cruz Costa Blanca has its own bus for wheelchair users. This bus is used several days a week to transport wheelchair users to the Anneke Residence day centre in Alfaz del Pí. It is also used for short day trips or carrying shopping.
You can also hire the bus yourself for half-day or full-day trips. The bus has room for 4 wheelchairs and 2 fixed seats.
The bus is available all day Wednesday and Friday, for other days please consult us.
The minimum hire time is 4 hours - € 88.00= plus € 0.48 per km. The price does not include 16% VAT, but the driver (compulsory) and petrol are included.
Moreover you are able to hire the bus for a trip to and from the airport in Alicante. The price is € 125, - (including 16% VAT, driver and fuel) for all distances between region Altea - Alicante. As a member you will receive a 10% discount on the price. For longer or shorter distances there are other rates on application.
Each member of Cruz Costa Blanca can book the wheelchair users' bus, including driver, for a morning or afternoon (for up to a maximum of 4 hours and 100 km).
The rental rates for the bus with driver are:
- Central zone (from Altea to San Juan) 20 euros.
- North zone (from Calpe to Denia) 30 euros.
- South zone (from Alicante to Torrevieja) 40 euros.
Plus 5 euros per person.
Cruz Costa Blanca also offers escorts for wheelchair users. Rates provided on request.
